Job summary

LONG Building Technologies, Inc. is seeking an HVAC Controls Technician II in Renton, WA to troubleshoot and program temperature control systems per project specifications. You will install, support warranty and emergency procedures, mentor apprentices, and share industry expertise on job tasks.

The role demands proficiency with KMC, Distech, Tridium/Honeywell systems, and strong problem-solving in a commercial HVAC environment. Excellent customer service and on-site independence are essential.

Qualifications

• 2 years of computer/electronic degree with 1 year temperature control startup/checkout or 3-5 years startup experience.
• Proficient programming and troubleshooting with KMC, Distech, Tridium/Honeywell and equivalents.
• Strong analytical skills for solving software and integration challenges.

Responsibilities

• Program databases for systems to meet sequences of operation per LONG standards.
• Calibrate and checkout control systems and ensure commissioning obligations are met.
• Create control graphics and GUI labor per LONG standards and docs.
• Instruct customer personnel on operation and maintenance of control systems.
• Update drawings and maintain as-built records; submit redlines.
• Advise service sales manager on additional sales potential and pursue service contracts.
• Provide guidance to apprentices on jobsites and mentor as needed.
• Work independently to complete tasks on the jobsite.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues throughout project sequences.
