Job summary

University of Central Florida seeks a Controls Specialist II to support HVAC systems, perform retro and first-analysis of performance, and maintain building automation for a safe, efficient campus environment.

The role requires intermediate HVAC knowledge, BAS experience, and the ability to coordinate with the Utilities and Engineering Services team. On-site work is essential, with schedule Wednesday–Saturday and 5:00am–3:30pm shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 4+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Intermediate skills in HVAC and building controls.
• Experience with BAS front end/back end software platforms.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC BAS and related equipment to ensure continuous operation.
• Install, repair, replace and recalibrate BAS controllers and auxiliary components.
• Update system front end graphics, back end programming, and configurations.
• Collaborate with commissioning team to improve BAS operation and energy efficiency.
• Coordinate minor repairs across pneumatic systems, DDC controls, chillers, pumps, and related components.
• Serve as first response for indoor environmental work requests.
