Job summary

LONG Building Technologies, Anchorage is seeking a DDC/BAS Controls Technician II for new construction projects. You will troubleshoot, program, and calibrate temperature control systems and deliver operator-friendly GUIs in line with LONG standards.

You will guide apprentices on the job, support start-up and commissioning, and contribute to service contracts. A background in HVAC controls and strong analytical skills are required, with travel to sites as needed.

Qualifications

2 years of a computer/electronic technical degree with 1 year temperature control system start-up, checkout and service experience or 3–5 years temperature control system start-up and service experience.

Responsibilities

Program databases for all supported systems to meet specified sequences of operation and manufacturer recommendations.
Calibrate and checkout control systems and ensure commissioning obligations are met.
Create control graphics and deliver GUIs per LONG standards.
Instruct customer personnel on operation and maintenance of temperature control systems.
Update drawings and maintain as-built records; submit redlined drafts.
Identify additional sales potential and solicit service contracts during start-up and training.
Provide guidance for controls apprentices on jobsites and work tasks.
Work independently to complete tasks on site.
Troubleshoot and resolve project sequence issues.
Other duties as assigned.
