Job summary

EMCOR Group in Reno, NV is seeking an Automation Technician I to inspect, test, adjust and repair electric, electronic, mechanical and pneumatic automation devices and systems. You will diagnose malfunctions and perform preventative and corrective maintenance on complex controls equipment.

You will read control drawings, identify components in chillers, boilers, AHUs, FCUs, VAVs, and EF systems, and collaborate with installation and maintenance teams to implement modifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience with HVAC control systems such as Delta, JCI or Andover.
• Strong communication and programming/maintenance experience with control systems.

Responsibilities

• Test, inspect, and adjust sensors, meters, controllers for accuracy.
• Read controls drawings and identify components.
• Diagnose and repair automation equipment; perform maintenance.
• Document calibrations, parts used, and inventory.
• Prepare schematic drawings and reflect changes for as-built drawings.
• Collaborate with installation and maintenance teams on modifications.
• Schedule run times and generate system trend reports.
