Job summary

QBS Controls is actively seeking an HVAC Controls Project Technician to program, start up, and commission building automation systems on new construction and retrofit projects across the Dallas–Fort Worth area.

You will program DDC controllers and build graphics, perform point-to-point checkout, and support commissioning efforts in collaboration with field teams. This full-time role offers competitive pay and company benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with DDC/building automation systems.
• Experience programming controllers and building graphics is preferred.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems and control sequences.
• Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, or similar protocols is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Program DDC controllers and build system graphics per project sequences of operation.
• Perform point-to-point checkout of installed controls.
• Start up, tune, and commission building automation systems.
• Perform functional testing and support third-party commissioning agents.
• Troubleshoot installation and programming issues in the field.
• Create as-built documentation and support project closeout.
• Coordinate with installation crews, mechanical contractors, and project managers.
