Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks an HVAC Controls Systems Designer to support design and programming of HVAC control systems under supervision. Translate project requirements into hardware, software, submittals, and installation docs while assisting commissioning and basic warranty responses.

The role involves design and programming using established standards, preparing submittals, coordinating drawings, and supporting field teams through commissioning and warranty phases.

Qualifications

• University degree and 1 year of suggested minimum experience, or 2-year degree and 6 years of suggested minimum experience.
• Experience with installing and/or commissioning controls systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Demonstrated technical aptitude.
• Demonstrated advanced computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC control system hardware and software using established standards and the project requirements.
• Select hardware from the standard design library for diagrams, BOMs, network layouts, and schematics.
• Prepare detailed submittals and documentation for customers, consultants, and field teams.
• Program software per standards and project needs; update drawings and operation manuals.
• Coordinate drawings, equipment schedules, as-built docs, software updates, and manuals.
• Order and track materials; support factory-mounting and meeting schedules.
