Job summary

ENFRA is seeking an HVAC Controls Specialist I to join the Technical Services team. The role focuses on evaluating, programming, optimizing, and testing building systems both on-site and remotely, with energy conservation and retro-commissioning at the core.

Strong independence and judgement are required. The position involves performing site surveys, documentation reviews, and developing functional performance tests using CxAlloy, with travel 40–60% to job sites.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or equivalent in HVAC, Energy Management, Building Automation or related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.

• Ability to work with limited information.
• Self-directed or able to work with limited direction.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned duties in accordance with ENFRA policies, procedures, safety guidelines.
• Documentation, collaboration, and communication with project delivery team and manager on a regular basis.
• Execute and complete assigned tasks and deliverables in a timely manner.
• Participate in site surveys, documentation review, and due diligence for energy conservation measures.
• Participate in design/submittal reviews of new construction commissioning scope.
• Utilize CxAlloy to document commissioning scopes.
• Develop pre-functional checklists and functional tests in CxAlloy.
• Develop technical reports and project observations to support progress and understanding of operations.
• Implement energy conservation measures independently or with partners.
• Review pre-functional checklists vs site conditions.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and modify building system programming as needed.
• Review and resolve issues related to building system integration and networking.
• Use test instrumentation to verify building system operation.
• Oversee and execute functional performance tests for construction scope acceptance.
• Document energy performance and maintain records on-site and in ENFRA storage.
• Collaborate with project team to meet performance targets.
• Maintain safety and quality throughout the project life cycle.
• Work with project partners to ensure proper documentation of changes.
• Uphold ENFRA core values and SOPs.
