Job summary

The City of Farmington Hills seeks a Mechanical Inspector/Plan Reviewer to perform on-site inspections of HVAC installations, review plans, and ensure compliance with state and local codes. You will work with contractors and building owners to resolve violations and maintain thorough inspection records.

Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma with HVAC experience and be registered under Act 407 as Mechanical Inspector and Plan Reviewer in Michigan; an Associate's degree is

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with HVAC experience preferred; registration as Mechanical Inspector and Plan Reviewer under Act 407 of PA 2016 in Michigan is desirable.
• Registration as Mechanical Inspector and Plan Reviewer under Act 407 of 2016 preferred.
• Associate's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews construction plans and blueprints to verify compliance for heating and refrigeration systems.
• Conducts on-site inspections of heating and refrigeration systems to ensure code compliance.
• Issues violation notices when required and enforces city ordinances.
• Assists contractors and residents with technical information on heating, refrigeration, and plumbing systems.
• Performs tests for pressure, leaks, and proper installation of HVAC components.
