Job summary

Sarasota County is seeking an on-site Facilities Technician to assist Skilled Trades II staff with HVAC, Life Safety, and general maintenance across County facilities. You will perform preventive maintenance, assist with repairs, and work directly with vendors servicing critical systems, contributing to safe and efficient buildings.

The role offers regular day hours, on-call rotation for emergencies, and comprehensive benefits. A valid Florida Driver's License and HVAC experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or its equivalent is required.
• Two years of experience in HVAC trades are required.
• Valid Florida Driver's License is required at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist Skilled Trades II workers with repairs and maintenance to HVAC, Life Safety, and general maintenance items.
• Perform preventive maintenance checks and services on assigned equipment and systems.
• Maintain and investigate minor repairs of multiple building systems in support of, or with, Skilled Trades II workers, or as assigned by Supervisor.
