The New York City Housing Development Corporation (HDC) is seeking an HVAC & Facilities Systems Technician to maintain and service its facility’s mechanical equipment, control systems, power distribution, and HVAC infrastructure. This full-time exempt role reports to the Chief of Office & Facilities Management.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, coordinating with vendors and contractors, operating building management systems, and responding to emergencies outside business hours.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of three years of experience in a professional office setting.
• Strong understanding of building systems including HVAC, electrical and plumbing.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive if needed.
• Ability to perform hands-on tasks and lift at least 25 pounds.

Responsabilidades

• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs to minimize disruptions and ensure smooth operation of the office and equipment.
• Regularly service HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems to identify and fix issues before they malfunction.
• Ensure HVAC and related systems operate safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate with vendors and building maintenance staff to complete tasks cost-effectively and safely.
• Order replacement parts and coordinate with contractors for specialized repairs.
• Understand and use Building Management Systems and maintenance software.
• Ensure all activities comply with regulations and safety standards.
• Support general tasks like furniture setup and mailroom duties.
• Act as Fire Safety Warden and coordinate fire drills; respond to emergencies outside business hours.
