Job summary

Exelon is hiring a Building Engineer B to operate, maintain and repair building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and fire protection. The role requires reading prints and schematics, using hand and power tools, and adhering to safety procedures.

Qualified candidates will have a relevant license (DC Class 3 or MD Grade 1) and a CFC certificate, with the ability to diagnose issues and coordinate with technicians for system improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience as Building Engineer B or equivalent outside experience.
• Ability to read and interpret prints, schematics, and specifications.
• Valid DC Class 3 Stationary Engineer license or MD Grade 1.
• Proficient with hand and power tools and instruments.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and basic first-aid procedures.
• Valid motor vehicle operator's permit.
• CFC Universal Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test and maintain heating, a/c, plumbing, fire protection systems and related equipment.
• Operate, repair, install and service HVAC systems and equipment; replace filters and lubricate components.
• Maintain and repair boilers, air compressors, piping, controls and related equipment.
• Inspect plumbing fixtures, water systems, and drainage; repair leaks and replace fittings.
• Dismantle, repair and reassemble equipment; install piping and ductwork; calibrate controls and thermostats.
• Monitor Building Automation Control System to optimize HVAC, lighting and energy.
• Perform related building maintenance tasks as needed.
• Identify, diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues to ensure safe operation.
