Job summary

Oakland Schools is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform repairs and preventive maintenance on mechanical, HVAC, boiler, electrical, plumbing and related systems across district facilities. You will operate and troubleshoot boilers, chillers and building automation equipment, with a focus on safety and reliability.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with HVAC systems, a record of dependable attendance, and the ability to read work orders and follow supervisor directions.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate knowledge of boilers, rooftop units and HVAC systems.
• Ability to operate a computer and work order systems (e.g., School Dude).
• Experience with preventive maintenance on mechanical systems.
• Comfort working in a repair-focused role with a safety mindset.

Responsibilities

• Directly responsible to the Supervisor of Maintenance.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Repair and maintain mechanical, air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing and heating systems.
• Operate and troubleshoot building mechanical systems and energy management.
• Maintain safety records and comply with district procedures.
