Job summary

Oakland Schools is seeking a Maintenance Technician to handle repairs and preventive maintenance of mechanical, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and heating systems district-wide. The role requires operating boilers, chillers and building automation systems to ensure continuous functionality.

The position demands ability to follow directions, strong troubleshooting skills, and the capacity to work at heights and in varied weather. Overtime and emergency responsiveness may be required.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate exemplary attendance.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Working knowledge of steam and hot water boilers, rooftop heating and A/C units, furnaces and domestic water heaters.

Responsibilities

• Directly responsible to the Supervisor of Maintenance.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical and electrical systems.
• Operates, monitors, maintains and troubleshoots building mechanical systems, including energy management systems.
