Job summary

The University at Buffalo is seeking a Trades Generalist to spend most of the time in the field handling daily work orders and scheduled preventative maintenance for energy management equipment on campus. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing BAS, reading prints, and coordinating with contractors to ensure system reliability.

Minimum qualifications include four years of full-time trade experience or equivalent training, plus strong mechanical and IT aptitude.

Qualifications

• Four years of full-time experience in a trade or equivalent training.
• Experience with building automation systems (BAS) and direct digital controls.
• Ability to read prints and schematics and document work performed.
• Valid New York State driver’s license or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to daily service requests and scheduled preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and service BAS and electrical/mechanical equipment.
• Document work using computers and operate field controls (D.D.C.).
• Work with outside contractors when necessary and provide customer service.
• Be prepared for after-hours emergency service and read prints/schematics.
