Job summary

Washtenaw Community College seeks an HVAC BAS Technician to install, program, maintain and troubleshoot building automation and climate control systems across campus. You will work with BACnet, LON, Tridium/Niagara, and related hardware, supporting energy efficiency and reliability under the Facilities team.

The role requires extensive hands-on experience with DDC, field wiring, and system graphics, plus the ability to read schematics and operate within safety and PPE policies.

Qualifications

• Sixty college-level HVAC credits or equivalent coursework with programming exposure.
• Associate degree in HVAC control system programming or mechanical engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, diagnose, maintain, calibrate and repair BAS devices (BACnet, LON, Tridium/Niagara).
• Design, build, and install BAS databases, programming, and graphics per requirements.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure compatibility with operations and future needs.
• Lead training for technicians on installed systems and software updates.
