Job summary

Manchester Public Schools seeks an experienced Heating System Mechanic/HVAC technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC equipment across district facilities. Responsibilities include servicing boilers, chillers, cooling towers, BAS, pumps, and air handling systems; reading blueprints; complying with safety standards; and coordinating with crew members.

Requires CT S2 license and refrigerant recovery certification; 4+ years of HVAC experience; U.S.

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Proven oral and written communications skills and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of safe practices and principles in high voltage electricity.
• Experience in HVAC trade with at least four years and CT S2 license; universal refrigerant certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair HVAC equipment across facilities, including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and BAS.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on motors, starters, and related equipment; service control centers and steam systems.
• Coordinate with team leads; willingness to work overtime or on-call during emergencies.
