Job summary

Sunbelt Controls is seeking an HVAC controls programmer with strong knowledge of BAS applications to develop databases, programs, and graphics for building systems. The role involves remote and on-site collaboration with project teams to ensure robust integration and testing of control sequences.

Required are 2–5 years in building automation and proficiency with BACnet/Modbus/Lon Works, Niagara, and MS Office. A valid driver’s license and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in a technical field or 2–5 years in building automation; Bachelor's preferred.
• Certifications in HVAC Controls Programming or Building Automation Systems are advantageous.
• Proficiency with BACnet, Modbus, Lon Works, Niagara Framework, etc.
• MS Office, Windows, TCP/IP knowledge and web navigation desired.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
• Excellent critical thinking and attention to detail; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supports design engineering to ensure hardware inclusion meets system operation intent.
• Develops software for control systems databases, programs, and graphics.
• Coordinates with project managers, engineers, and field technicians for timely, on-budget delivery.
• Collaborates with mechanical/electrical engineers and contractors for proper integration of HVAC controls.
• Remotely supports initial and final system testing and commissioning activities.
• Troubleshoots HVAC controls issues including software, comms, and hardware faults.
• Performs pre-functional testing and validates software against design sequences.
• Ensures compliance with Sunbelt’s programming standards and guidelines.
