Job summary

CBRE Building Automation Engineer role involves master systems integration of building management systems, building control database creation, and interface development, with on-site and remote support for installers and clients.

This position requires up to 50% travel, a bachelor’s in HVAC/electrical/mechanical/software with 2–5 years’ experience, and knowledge of Niagara, Distech, BACnet/Modbus, and IT networking to commission and optimize control applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HVAC, electrical, mechanical or software; 2–5 years of relevant experience.
• Understanding of procedures to solve slightly complex problems.
• Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply judgment.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
• Core knowledge in three or more building automation tech areas (Niagara, Distech, BACnet/Modbus, HVAC, IT networking, commissioning, troubleshooting).
• Travel up to 50% of the year (overnight trips up to a week).

Responsibilities

• Create complex programming using flow diagrams and panel layouts.
• Program control applications with various software tools.
• Site checkout, commissioning, and testing of control applications.
• Verify operation per project specs and design docs.
• Develop system graphic displays per specs or proposals.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support to installers and customers.
• Evaluate and diagnose multifaceted systems and isolate issues.
• Document resolutions and report findings to the project team.
• Support software tools and contribute to team quality.
