Job summary

Greater Cincinnati BOMA invites applications for a Software Engineer Analyst (HVAC Controls) to join our CBRE Building Automation team. The role focuses on master systems integration for building management systems, creating databases, and setting up control programs according to project specifications and sales proposals.

The engineer will provide on-site and remote support, perform startup and commissioning tasks, and ensure systems meet design documentation. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical or Software preferred; 2–5 years of relevant experience.
• Solid understanding of Building Management Systems and standard protocols.
• Ability to analyze solutions using technical judgment and precedents.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Create complex programming using flow diagrams, sequences of operations and panel layouts.
• Program control applications with various software tools.
• Perform on-site and remote system startup, commissioning, and testing.
• Verify operation per project specs, sales proposals, and design docs.
• Develop and approve system graphics displays per project specs or proposals.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support to installers and customers.
• Conduct multifaceted system evaluation and diagnostics; troubleshoot escalated issues.

Software Engineer Analyst (HVAC Controls) – Remote USA

As a CBREBuilding AutomationEngineer, you will carry out Master Systems Integration of building management systems (BMS), build control databases, create user interfaces and set-up control systems based on project specification and/or sales proposals.

Provide on-site and remote technical support to installers and customers. Performs field startup and system commissioning tasks as well as the remote installation of software and control programs.

This job is part of the Software Engineering job function responsible for delivering projects on a global scale for large enterprise clients using industry leading technologies and processes.

What You’ll Do:

• Create complex programming using flow diagrams, sequen ces of ope rations and panel layouts.
• Perform programming of control applications using various software tools.
• Perform job-site system checkout, commissioning, and testing of control applications.
• Confirm proper operation according to project specifications, sales proposal, and design documentation.
• Approve and develop system graphic displays, according to project specifications or sales proposals.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support to installers and customers.
• Perform multifaceted system evaluation and diagnostics.
• Isolate and troubleshoot escalated problems and take corrective action.
• Document problem resolution and report finding back to Project team for customer follow-up.
• Apply general knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish assigned tasks and solve routine problems.
• Have broad knowledge of own job discipline and some knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
• Support the management of software tools.
• Impact the quality of own work and the work of others on the team.
• Work primarily within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objecti ves and me et deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical or Software preferred with 2-5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
• Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
• Must possess core knowledge in a minimum of three of the following:
• Building Management Systems

Travel requirement is up to 50% of your annual time. Trips will be overnight up to a weeklong. Back-to-back travel weeks are not normal.
