Position Overview

The primary responsibilities of the HVAC and Plumbing Mechanic include the operation, maintenance, and repair of campus HVAC, Plumbing, and BAS Control systems. This position requires understanding of boilers, steam and hot water heating systems, chillers and chilled water systems, refrigeration equipment, electrical controls, building automation, plumbing, and water treatment.

Salary and Benefits

Base starting salary: $31.30/hr. Additional certifications may also qualify you for an hourly bonus.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• 3-5 years' experience in the service, maintenance, repair, and installation of air handling equipment, such as uninvents, fan coils, exhaust fans, make-up air fans, unit heaters, air handling units for single and multiple zones, including lubrication, filter changing, coil cleaning, belt and bearing replacement.
• 3-5 years' experience working with BAS and mechanical systems
• Ability to fabricate and install piping and tubing for plumbing and HVAC repairs
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment electrically and mechanically using meters, gauges, and diagnostics
• Experience inspecting, maintaining, and repairing building heating supply and return lines, including cleaning, repairing, and replacing strainers, valves, and fittings
• Ability to work from ladders and lifts to access equipment
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and possess a valid driver's license
