Job summary

PRIDE Industries is seeking an HVAC and Appliance Manager to oversee maintenance and repair services at a military facility under a DFAC contract. The role directs HVAC and appliance staff, ensures compliance with contract terms, safety, and quality standards, and reports on performance.

Under minimal supervision, you will manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs, coordinate with contract personnel, and maintain strong relationships with site leadership to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Five years experience HVAC and appliance repair; including three years in a supervisory role.
• Supervisory skills to hire qualified employees, provide for their development, and administer performance management.
• Ability to supervise and develop assigned team to meet goals while adhering to safety policies.
• Effective written and oral communication; ability to present to senior management.
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced computer literacy including word processing, spreadsheets, databases and presentations.

SUPERVISES: There are direct reports with this position.

POSITION SUMMARY: Under minimal supervision, the HVAC and Appliance Manager is responsible to manage HVAC and appliance maintenance as well as repair services for the specified facilities according to PRIDE’s contract at the military installation. This position will also oversee all HVAC and related maintenance staff to ensure compliance.

Typical Duties

• Plans, organizes and manages contractually provided delivery of HVAC and Appliance maintenance and repair services for DFAC’s and facilities according to PWS.
• Manages compliance with contract terms, conditions and obligations.
• Supervises staff; ensures a competent, motivated staff through hiring, training, counseling, supervising and reviewing the performance of employees.
• Develops a professional working relationship with key contract personnel, and establishes official lines of communication.
• Provides for quality control, inventory management, record keeping, and management reporting.
• Assists in the development, implementation and management of a preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance program that includes predictive testing and inspection of equipment and systems.
• Ensure staff conducts all work in a safe manner, incorporating random tool box safety topics.
• Schedules and prioritize tasks and ensure adherence to procedures, regulations and guidelines while minimizing errors and safety risks.
• Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Five years experience HVAC and zappliance repair installation; including three years in a supervisory role;
• Supervisory skills to hire qualified employees, provide for their professional development, administer performance management and disciplinary processes effectively, and address employee relations appropriately;
• Ability to effectively supervise and develop assigned team to meet production/service goals while adhering to safety policies and rules;
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to make presentations and respond to inquiries by senior management, customers and/or employees;
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational, reasoning, problem solving and analytical skills;
• Exceptional customer service skills;
• Human relation skills to build effective relationships with team, customers and public;
• Advanced computer literacy including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software;
• Knowledge of business English including vocabulary, spelling, and correct grammatical usage and punctuation;
• Mathematical skills to include the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations;
• Ability to establish priorities and solve a wide range of business, operational and strategic management problems;
• Flexibility to respond to changing work priorities and handle numerous projects at the same time.

Physical Requirements

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:

• Bending, kneeling, stooping and reaching
• Climbing stepstools or ladders.
• Lifting and moving heavy equipment up to 35 pounds
• Climbing ladders to gain access to rooftop equipment
• Monitoring computer systems and control displays

Work Environment

Work is performed at a customer’s location in office, shop, warehouse, or outdoor environment. May require driving to and from worksite locations. Equipment can be located in crawl spaces, rooftops, and outside facility. Employees may be exposed to hazardous and/or toxic substances, electrical shock, noise from equipment, and depending on external weather conditions, wind, rain, cold, and heat.
