Job summary

Avangrid is seeking a Lead Engineer - Transmission & Substation Project Development in New York. The role develops T&S capital projects from concept to handoff for execution and leads cross-functional teams across utilities disciplines.

The position requires a Bachelor's in engineering, 7+ years in T&D power systems, and the ability to influence executives and regulators. On-site office work in New York is expected, with extensive collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
• MBA and/or Professional Engineering License is a plus.
• 7+ years of practical experience across a broad range of T&D Power Systems including Planning, Engineering, Construction, or Operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop the majority of new T&S capital projects to Conceptual design level (IP2) for approval and handoff for execution.
• Ensure proposed T&S projects meet Investment Plan requirements with justification and documentation.
• Lead TSRG reviews and coordinate with regulators and ISO as needed.
• Provide technical leadership for T&S capital projects from inception through construction.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Planning to identify and mitigate system issues.
