Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Physical Engineer to lead HV substation design and grow a regional team. You will guide complex projects, set technical direction, and ensure client expectations are met with quality outcomes.

You will mentor engineers, manage performance, and support business growth while focusing on safety, standards, and collaboration. Travel to multiple offices may be required as projects demand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum 15 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, execution, and delivery of HV substation projects from 13.8kV to 345kV.
• Serve as Engineer of Record and technical authority for substation physical design.
• Review engineering deliverables and calculations to ensure quality and standards.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for planning, design, and construction phases.
• Lead, mentor, and develop engineers and designers to sustain technical excellence.
