Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Substation Designer (CAD Technician) to join our energy consulting team.

You will prepare schematic and wiring diagrams for high voltage substations and renewable interconnections, working with engineers to turn concepts into deliverables. The ideal candidate has an Associate degree in Design & Drafting Technology and at least 3 years of CAD experience, with AutoCAD proficiency.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Design & Drafting Technology or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years CAD experience; AutoCAD experience preferred.
• Experience drafting schematic and wiring drawings for high voltage utility substations.

Responsibilities

• CAD design and drafting of engineering products and deliverables.
• Collaborate with engineers/drafters to correct discrepancies in drawings.
• Produce functional electrical drawings: single/three-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Import tables and BOMs and add drawing notes; ensure accuracy before review.
• Meet project schedules and quality requirements; multi‑project management.
