Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a collaborative Substation Designer (CAD Technician) to join our energy consulting team in a full-time role in Austin. You will prepare schematic and wiring diagrams for high voltage substations and renewable interconnections, working with engineers to produce accurate drawings.

The position emphasizes detailed CAD work and timely delivery in a growing firm. The ideal candidate has an associate degree in Design & Drafting Technology and at least 3

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Design & Drafting Technology or related field of study.
• Minimum of 3 yrs. CAD experience; AutoCAD experience preferred.
• Prior experience drafting schematic and wiring diagrams for high voltage substations is required.

Responsabilités

• Computer aided design and drafting of all engineering products and deliverables.
• Collaborate with engineers to correct discrepancies in drawings and designs.
• Create detailed electrical drawings: single line, three line, protection and control schematics.
• Prepare associated wiring diagrams and BOM tables; add notes to each drawing.
• Perform self-checks to ensure accuracy before supervisor review.
• Meet project schedules and quality requirements; handle multiple projects concurrently.
• Provide interdepartmental support and assist in project delivery as needed.
