Job summary

Prysmian North America is seeking a highly motivated High Voltage Test Engineer to join our High Voltage Cable Testing Team. This role supports commissioning, maintenance, and diagnostic testing of MV, HV, and EHV underground cables across North America, using Prysmian resonant AC test systems and PD diagnostic technologies.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of MV/HV/EHV underground cable systems
• Experience with commissioning, acceptance, maintenance, and diagnostic testing
• Hands-on experience with resonant AC withstands testing and PD measurements
• Working knowledge of IEEE and IEC standards for cable testing and commissioning
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication and documentation
• Ability to work independently while collaborating in multidisciplinary teams
• Willingness to travel across North America and manage field activities

Responsibilities

• Perform commissioning, maintenance, and diagnostic testing of MV, HV, and EHV underground cable systems
• Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain Prysmian resonant AC test systems and PD measurement equipment
• Develop project-specific test plans and pre-job safety documentation (JHAs)
• Coordinate project schedules, equipment logistics, personnel and field resources
• Mobilize, setup, commission, operate, maintain, and demobilize high-voltage testing equipment at customer locations
• Lead and support field technicians during testing activities
• Analyze test data, interpret results, and provide technical recommendations
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports documenting procedures, results and observations
• Collaborate with installation engineers, cable splicers, system engineers, and customers to meet requirements
• Assist customers in troubleshooting cable system issues and recommend solutions
• Maintain, calibrate, and verify high voltage testing equipment
• Support continuous improvement in testing processes and customer satisfaction
• Represent Prysmian professionally and build strong customer relationships
