Job summary

Avantus seeks a Senior/Principal Engineer, HV Engineering, to act as the technical authority for high-voltage infrastructure across utility-scale solar, energy storage, and hybrid projects. You will lead substations, switchyards, generation tie lines, interconnection facilities, and owner-furnished HV equipment, coordinating with utilities and EPCs through project life cycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of HV engineering experience.
• Experience with substations, switchyards, transmission lines and interconnections up to 500kV.
• Strong project management and stakeholder skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for HV engineering through all project phases for up to 500kV.
• Establish and maintain design standards for shared HV facilities.
• Act as Owner's technical interface with utilities, EPCs, vendors and stakeholders.
• Support interconnection requirements, RFIs, studies, and approvals.
• Lead routing, siting, and design for transmission lines and interconnections.
• Coordinate Owner's Engineers, consultants, and contractors.
• Oversee owner-furnished HV equipment including transformers and protection systems.
• Coordinate telecom, SCADA, protection, and communications architectures.
