Job summary

Archer Aviation is seeking an Electrical Engineer, Battery in San Jose, CA to own hardware designs for the high voltage BMS. You will lead PCBA design, ensure seamless integration with the battery pack, and work with mechanical and software teams to meet safety goals.

You will verify designs with lab equipment, support software revisions, and coordinate with PM, DFM, supply chain, and quality teams to enable reliable production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 1+ years designing and validating complex electrical circuits.
• Experience with high voltage battery systems and BMS electronics.
• Proficient with Altium Designer and circuit-simulation tools like LTSpice.
• Knowledge of PCB design rules including IPC-610/2221/2222.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of BMS PCBA through full lifecycle including schematic, layout, and revisions.
• Collaborate with mechanical and software teams to ensure seamless integration of BMS hardware.
• Design circuits for diagnostic coverage, redundancy, and fault-tolerance with safety goals.
• Own PCBA bring-up and verification with lab testing across operating conditions.
• Support software development related to new circuits and revisions; update interfaces.
• Coordinate builds with PM, DFM, supply chain and quality teams.
• Support production needs including test design, root-cause analysis and traceability.
• Work with cross-functional teams to integrate battery pack with aircraft electrical systems.
• Assist with hardware fault injection tests on HILs and packs.
