Job description

Erin is seeking a professional business partner with an entrepreneurial mindset to grow this little grassroots business and passion project. We are really looking for the perfect candidate with a can-do, high vibration, feminist attitude who is passionate about breaking down barriers for women in the outdoors, while building a support structure that helps our guides close the wage gap in the outdoor industry. This position starts March 1 of 2026 if not sooner.

We made it exist and proved the concept. Can you make it better? We have a set schedule of events, camps, and classes that our clientele enjoys coming back year after year to grow their knowledge and become more invested in their outdoor confidence and conservation efforts.

Job Title: Hunting Manager

Employment Type: Part-time leadership role (10–15 hours/week)

Compensation: Percentage of revenue + $15/hour for classes + guide commissions earned when teaching

Position Summary

Uncharted Outdoorswomen is hiring a Hunting Manager to oversee all hunting-related operations, guides, events, and long-term program development. This is a leadership role for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset who wants to help build a first-of-its-kind, women-led outfitter focused on education, empowerment, safety, and conservation.

We have a proven concept and a loyal, returning community. Now we are seeking a long‑term partner who can take ownership of the hunting department, support our guides, cultivate collaborations, and help carry our mission forward. This role is ideal for someone who believes deeply in breaking down barriers for women in the outdoors while helping our guides close the wage gap in the outdoor industry.

Core Responsibilities
Event & Program Oversight

The Hunting Manager oversees the scheduling, logistics, and execution of all hunting‑related events and classes, including:

  • Hunting Skills Camp
  • Archery Camp
  • Elk Camp
  • Grouse Camp
  • Wingshooting Camp
  • Pheasant Hunts
  • Small Game Hunts
  • Waterfowl Hunts
  • Archery 101
  • Monthly community events

Responsibilities include posting events, assigning guides, ensuring coverage, confirming event logistics, enforcing safety standards, communicating with attendees, and attending/teaching events as needed.

Guide Management & HR Support
  • Hire and manage all hunting guides
  • Conduct interviews and verify certifications
  • Run background checks as needed
  • Support onboarding and training
  • Provide feedback and performance support
  • Handle conflict and maintain a professional, positive team culture
  • Communicate directly with Erin on final hiring decisions
Partnerships & Collaborations
  • Cultivate new partnerships with ranges, landowners, venues, organizations, and outdoor businesses
  • Maintain and strengthen existing collaborations
  • Identify opportunities for co‑hosted events, sponsored offerings, or educational partnerships
Membership Program & Online Education
  • Help establish and launch the Uncharted Outdoorswomen membership program
  • Assist in developing online education for hunting, conservation, and outdoor skills
  • Contribute to monthly or seasonal member‑focused hunting content
Operations & Logistics
  • Manage inventory for hunting classes, camps, and equipment
  • Coordinate logistics for events, including scheduling, communication, and coverage
  • Assist with permits, landowner communication, and operational tasks
  • Maintain organizational systems such as shared calendars, gear lists, and class templates
Content & Communication

Uncharted Outdoorswomen values simple, authentic educational content.

  • Post class/event reminders or updates as needed
  • Upload two photos per event you attend (1 group photo, 1 educational or inspiring moment)
  • Write occasional educational blogs related to hunting or outdoor skills
  • Communicate regularly in the team Slack channel
Compensation Structure

This is a commission‑based leadership role designed for someone who:

  • Wants a flexible, creative, entrepreneurial work style
  • Is excited to help build something that does not exist anywhere else

Compensation includes:

  • Percentage of hunting department revenue, based on performance
  • $15/hour for teaching classes
  • Guide commissions for personally guiding or instructing
  • Additional earnings tied to new events, retreats, and collaborations developed collaboratively

An exceptional business partner can expect to earn $20,000–$30,000 per year, depending on how many programs we build together and associated expenses.

No one in the outdoor industry has created a role like this. You will be shaping a first-of-its-kind leadership position within a women‑led outfitter and contributing to a growing movement in the outdoor space.

Reports directly to Erin Crider, Founder

Collaborates closely with Emily (Fly Fishing Manager) and Anna (Archery & Big Game Lead)
