Uncharted Outdoorswomen is seeking TWO reliable, welcoming, and resourceful Camp Hosts to support our weekend camps. The Camp Host plays a vital role in creating a warm, organized, and enjoyable camp experience for our guides and attendees. This position is hands-on, requiring both hospitality skills and the ability to set up and manage camp operations.
Time Required
- Friday morning - Sunday afternoon at all/most 2026 Uncharted Outdoorswomen camps.
- Minimum pay is $15/hour for 10 hours for a 3-day or 2-night camp.
Key Responsibilities
- Camp Setup & Breakdown
- Arrange logistics for picking up and returning of the drop camp supplies if Erin is not attending.
- Arrive before attendees to build the camp: large tents, kitchen area, and community tent.
- Break down and pack up camp at the end of the event.
- Organize a menu for the camps or use our standard shopping list and recipes that our clients and guides know and love.
- Shop for camp groceries and manage supplies within a provided budget.
- Prepare and maintain the camp kitchen for clients and guide use, usually at 7 am.
- Heat breakfast burritos for guides in the morning.
- Set up a sandwich-making station for guide lunches.
- Refill propane tanks as needed.
- Prepare and serve dinner for all attendees and guides. This can be 20+ people, and we usually do tacos and chicken pasta. We are open to cost-efficient ideas.
- Understand and accommodate food allergies.
- Clean up camp kitchen daily and coordinate trash/recycling removal.
- Hospitality & Community Building
- Foster conversation and connection around camp while the guides decompress for up to one hour before dinner.
- Ensure attendees feel welcome and supported throughout the weekend. Report any complaint to the lead guide.
Qualifications
- Availability Friday morning through Sunday evening for scheduled camp weekends.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Experience in hospitality, food service, or event support is a plus.
- Comfort working outdoors in variable weather conditions.
- Ability to follow a budget and shop for group meals.
- Friendly, approachable, and able to create a safe, welcoming space for all.
