Job summary

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is seeking a Hunter Education Schools Program Coordinator to support the Bureau of Information and Education. This role coordinates school-based hunter education programs with the Department of Education and public schools, recruiting and training teachers.

You will develop curricula, collect attendance data, and work with school administrators to promote hunter education across the Commonwealth.

Qualifications

• Two years of professional experience in developing and implementing conservation education programs.
• Bachelor’s degree with coursework in wildlife management, journalism, communications, or closely related field.
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Lead collaboration with the Department of Education to recruit, train, and certify teachers to deliver hunter education programs in public schools.
• Provide teacher training, develop policies outlining teacher certification requirements, and assist teachers with coordinating hunter education programs in schools.
• Foster positive relationships with teachers, school administrators, and education partners to promote hunter education and other agency youth-based programs.
• Prepare instructional materials, curricula, and guidance documents that support quality program delivery and align with agency standards for safety, instruction, and equipment use.
• Collect attendance data, analyze program feedback, identify trends, and recommend improvements that enhance teacher and student outcomes.
• Assist with managing program inventory and school-based teaching materials, ensuring equipment and supplies are maintained and available for statewide use.
