Job summary

Penn State Extension Lebanon County is seeking an innovative Extension Educator to implement and expand the local 4-H program, collaborating with the statewide team. The role emphasizes youth development, hands-on learning, and volunteer leadership in clubs, camps, and enrichment activities.

The educator will work with two other 4-H Educators to grow enrollment, diversify offerings, and deliver impactful experiences while ensuring safety, ethics, and quality programming across Pennsylvania.

Qualifications

• Teaching, program development, and evaluation skills required.
• Ability to carry educational materials and supplies.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
• Experience with diverse youth audiences and commitment to diversity.
• Preferred: degree in youth development/agriculture/education and 4-H experience.

Responsibilities

• Implement educational programs and materials for the 4-H program across Lebanon County.
• Recruit, screen, train, and support adult volunteers.
• Promote 4-H to retain and recruit youth participants.
• Provide leadership to reach urban and rural populations and strengthen community engagement.
• Coordinate fundraising and collaborate with county/state teams.
