Qualifications

Job description

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is seeking a Hunter Education Schools Program Coordinator to support the Bureau of Information and Education. The Hunter Education Schools Program Coordinator serves as a liaison between the Pennsylvania Game Commission, PA Department of Education, and public schools to recruit, train, and certify teachers to teach Hunter education as an elective course or part of an existing course. This position plays an important part in strengthening conservation knowledge, promoting safe hunting practices, and expanding educational opportunities for students across the Commonwealth. It offers a meaningful opportunity to make a lasting impact on future generations.

This role advances opportunities for youth to take Pennsylvania’s Hunter-Trapper Education Program across the state by coordinating school-based programming. This position will work closely with Department of Education, school administrators and teachers, and agency staff to deliver hunter-education in schools. As the Hunter Education Schools Program Coordinator, you will perform the following duties:

• Hunter Education Schools Coordination: Lead collaboration with the Department of Education to recruit, train, and certify teachers to deliver hunter education programs in public schools.

Work Schedule and Additional Information

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 45-minute lunch.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. Telework is not permitted during the initial six-month probationary period; eligibility may be granted upon its successful completion. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Qualifications

Additional Requirements

• Within 6 months of hiring, the Hunter Education Schools Program Coordinator must complete and maintain a certification to teach the state's mandatory basic hunter-trapper education program.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
