Job summary

The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, ME seeks a Humanized Technologist to support the creation, maintenance and shipment of humanized mice. You will work in an ABSL-2 environment, perform basic procedures and ensure animal welfare while adhering to SOPs and safety rules.

Role involves data entry, documentation, and collaboration with project managers. Weekend, holidays, and overtime may be required; compensation ranges from $23.73 to $34.41 per hour.

Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
• High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Ability to work in an ABSL-2 environment and adhere to SOPs; strong documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in animal husbandry, room maintenance and operations, sanitation, record keeping and information systems within an ABSL-2 area.
• Operate steam autoclave including incubation and assessment of biological indicators.
• Maintain documentation as required by protocols and SOPs.
• Perform basic procedures such as tail vein injections and blood collection.
• Complete daily welfare checks and cage-side observations for animal well-being.
