Calcasieu Parish Police Jury in Lake Charles, LA seeks an eligibility clerk to determine client qualifications for assigned programs. You will gather financial data, review it for accuracy, and create and maintain cases and files.
Responsibilities include assessing client needs, promoting program services, and producing routine reports. The role may involve basic administrative tasks and customer service duties as part of a licensed public office.
This is the first of five levels in the Human Services series.
Incumbents determine client eligibility for assigned programs. Responsibilities may include compiling and reviewing financial data; determining eligibility for services based on established guidelines; promoting service offerings; completing an initial assessment of client needs; creating and maintaining files; compiling statistics and preparing reports; and performing related clerical duties.
This position does not require supervisory responsibilities.
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.) and one year customer service or clerical support experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
