Calcasieu Parish Police Jury is seeking a Labor position to maintain parish roads, grounds and buildings. Duties include mowing, weed eating, trimming trees, litter pickup, sweeping, and pouring asphalt, under direct supervision.
Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license. The role requires physical labor with exposure to outdoor conditions and standard safety procedures; uniform is provided.
This is the first of two levels in the Labor series. Incumbents perform manual labor related to the maintenance of Parish roads, grounds and buildings. Responsibilities may include mowing; weed eating; trimming trees; picking up litter; sweeping; mopping; shoveling, raking and pouring asphalt; flagging traffic; driving a pickup truck; and completing routine maintenance on vehicles, buildings and equipment. Responsibilities are performed under direct supervision and within well-defined practices and procedures. This position does not require supervisory responsibilities.
High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.); or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Valid Driver's License as per State law or requirement.
