Job summary

The New York City Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) seeks qualified Human Rights Specialists (Infoline) to serve in the Law Enforcement Bureau. You will be the first point of contact for the public, providing excellent service and support through phone interactions and in-person screening interviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus two years of related experience or equivalent education.
• Four-year high school diploma plus four years of related experience.
• Education/experience equivalent with required minimum of a high school diploma and one year as described.

Responsibilities

• Answer public inquiries in a professional and courteous manner via phone and in person screening.
• Provide information on NYCHRL locations, contact details, and agency functions.
• Assist with community outreach to diverse groups and organizations.
• Enter, update, and retrieve information in electronic filing/storage systems.
• Maintain organized filing and assist with daily administrative tasks for the LEB.
• Prepare and submit reports and forms as required by agency policies.
• Participate in training to stay current with NYCHRL provisions.
• Perform duties to advance the work of the Law Enforcement Bureau.
