We are seeking an organized, dependable, and experienced Human Resources / Staffing Coordinator to join our skilled nursing facility.
This position supports daily human resources operations while coordinating nursing schedules and staffing coverage. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, approachable, and able to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Coordinate recruitment, interviews, pre-employment requirements, and new-hire onboarding
Conduct employee orientation and ensure required documents are completed
Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files
Track licenses, certifications, health clearances, background checks, and other required credentials
Assist employees with routine questions regarding policies, payroll, benefits, and employment matters
Support employee-relations initiatives and communicate workplace concerns to leadership
Assist with performance-management documentation, disciplinary records, and separation procedures
Track attendance, lateness, leaves of absence, and paid-time-off requests
Maintain HR reports, employee rosters, and compliance records
Help ensure compliance with facility policies and applicable employment regulations
Coordinate employee-recognition, retention, and engagement activities
Partner with payroll and department leaders to resolve timekeeping discrepancies
Create, maintain, and distribute nursing department schedules
Monitor daily staffing levels and arrange coverage for open shifts and call-outs
Communicate schedule changes promptly to employees and nursing leadership
Track overtime, shift availability, scheduling patterns, and staffing needs
Help minimize agency usage and unnecessary overtime
Coordinate schedules for newly hired nursing employees
Maintain accurate staffing records and related documentation
Work closely with the Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, and facility leadership
Respond to occasional urgent staffing needs outside regular business hours
Previous human resources, staffing, scheduling, or workforce-coordination experience required
Experience in a skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, or healthcare setting strongly preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
Knowledge of employment practices, confidentiality standards, and HR documentation
Familiarity with nursing department positions and staffing requirements preferred
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle sensitive employee information with discretion and professionalism
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, scheduling platforms, and HR systems
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
Ability to work effectively with employees and leaders at all levels
Salary of up to $85,000 per year, based on experience, qualifications, and other applicable factors
