Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000

Classification: Exempt – overtime eligible

Days and Hours: Monday – Friday; 8-to-12-hour workday based on business needs.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Human Resources Specialist supports day-to-day HR operations and serves as a resource to team members and leaders across the organization. This position provides hands‑on support in employee relations, training and development, attendance, policy administration, onboarding, and general HR compliance.

The HR Specialist works closely with supervisors and managers to address workplace concerns, administer HR programs consistently, and support a positive, respectful, and productive work environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in an open workspace and directly with employees in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment while balancing employee support with company policies and business needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Employee Relations
  • Serve as an HR resource for team members, supervisors, and managers regarding workplace concerns, policies, attendance, performance, and employee relations matters.
  • Assist with employee relations investigations, including gathering information, conducting interviews, reviewing documentation, and preparing investigation summaries.
  • Coach and support supervisors and managers in addressing performance, attendance, conduct, and workplace concerns.
  • Assist with corrective action documentation and ensure consistency with company policies and practices.
  • Help identify workplace trends and recommend proactive solutions to improve communication, engagement, retention, and employee relations.
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.
Training & Development
  • Assist with the coordination and delivery of new hire orientation, supervisor training, leadership development, policy training, and HR‑related training programs.
  • Facilitate training sessions for employees and leaders as assigned.
  • Develop or update training materials, presentations, guides, job aids, and other learning resources.
  • Track training completion and maintain accurate training records.
  • Support onboarding and introductory‑period programs designed to improve new hire success and retention.
HR Operations & Team Member Support
  • Provide guidance to employees regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits resources, attendance, and other employment‑related questions.
  • Support new hire onboarding and employee orientation activities.
  • Assist with attendance administration and counseling processes.
  • Prepare HR correspondence, reports, corrective actions, and other employment documentation.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS information.
  • Assist with employee engagement, recognition, retention, and company‑sponsored programs.
  • Support recruiting and staffing activities as business needs require.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable employment laws, company policies, and record‑keeping requirements.
  • Perform other HR‑related responsibilities as assigned
QualificationsREQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant HR experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of Human Resources experience in a Generalist or similar HR role.
  • Experience supporting employee relations matters.
  • Working knowledge or experience with FMLA and ADA‑related processes.
  • Experience coordinating, developing, or facilitating employee or leadership training.
  • Experience working with HR policies, documentation, and confidential employee information.
Preferred:
  • Human Resources experience in manufacturing, automotive, industrial, distribution, or other high-volume environment.
  • Experience supporting hourly and salaried employee populations.
  • Experience conducting or assisting with workplace investigations.
  • Experience with HRIS, timekeeping, attendance, or learning management systems.
  • SHRM‑CP, PHR, or similar HR certification.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Strong interpersonal and employee relations skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable facilitating training and speaking in front of groups.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR practices, including FMLA, ADA, EEO, and wage and hour requirements.
  • Ability to objectively review employee concerns and gather relevant facts.
  • Strong organizational and follow‑up skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Sound judgment and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Strong documentation and record‑keeping skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and HR information systems.
  • Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of an HR team.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates in an open workspace in both an office and manufacturing environment and requires regular interaction with employees and leaders throughout the facility. The HR Specialist must be comfortable spending time on the production floor and supporting employees across different departments and shifts.

Schedule flexibility may be required to support training, employee relations matters, investigations, orientations, or other HR activities outside normal business hours.
