Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to support day-to-day HR operations at our Lithonia manufacturing facility, handling recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, benefits, training, and HR programs.

You will partner with operations leaders to ensure policy adherence, resolve workplace issues, maintain records, and contribute to safety and workforce planning in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-5 years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried manufacturing positions.
  • Manage onboarding processes, including new hire orientation and required documentation.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, payroll, and workplace concerns.
  • Assist in resolving employee relations issues through coaching, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation.
  • Support investigations related to workplace complaints, attendance, performance, and conduct issues.
  • Promote employee engagement and morale through communication and recognition programs.
  • Maintain employee records and HR information systems with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, and OSHA requirements.
  • Support audit activities and maintain required employment documentation.
  • Prepare HR reports, metrics, and workforce analytics as requested.
  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and general benefits inquiries.
  • Coordinate leave of absence programs, including FMLA, workers' compensation, and disability leave.
  • Work with payroll and benefits providers to ensure accurate employee data and deductions.
  • Coordinate training programs related to safety, compliance, leadership development, and employee skills enhancement.
  • Maintain training records and track completion of required certifications.
  • Support performance management processes and employee development initiatives.
  • Partner with production leaders to address workforce challenges in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Support attendance management and workforce scheduling practices.
  • Participate in safety initiatives and promote a culture of workplace safety.
  • Assist with shift-based employee communications and engagement activities.

Human Resources SpecialistPosition Summary

The Human Resources Specialist supports the day-to-day HR operations of a manufacturing facility by administering employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, benefits, training, and HR programs. This role serves as a key resource for employees and managers, ensuring HR policies and procedures are consistently applied while supporting a positive, safe, and productive work environment. The HR Specialist partners closely with operations leadership to meet workforce needs and maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment regulations.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesRecruitment & Staffing
  • Coordinate full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried manufacturing positions.
  • Post job openings, screen candidates, schedule interviews, and coordinate hiring activities.
  • Partner with supervisors and managers to identify staffing needs and workforce planning requirements.

  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) preferred.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Lithonia, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $42.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
