Job description

The Human Resources Site Lead is responsible for leading all human resources functions at the site while partnering closely with plant leadership to build and maintain a high performing, engaged workforce. This role provides both strategic guidance and day-to-day support in the areas of talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development, compliance, and organizational effectiveness.

  • Lead all site human resources activities and initiatives.
  • Partner with plant leadership on workforce planning, organizational development, and employee engagement.
  • Serve as a member of the site leadership team and provide recommendations based on HR metrics and workforce trends.
  • Ensure HR programs support overall business objectives.
Talent Acquisition and Onboarding
  • Manage the full recruitment and selection process for hourly and salaried positions.
  • Develop strategies to attract, hire, and retain high-quality employees.
  • Build relationships with technical schools, colleges, and community organizations.
  • Coordinate onboarding and orientation programs to support successful employee integration.
Employee Relations and Performance Management
  • Serve as the primary resource for employee concerns, investigations, and workplace issues.
  • Coach leaders on performance management, employee development, documentation, and corrective action.
  • Support succession planning and identify development opportunities for high-potential employees.
  • Promote open communication, fairness, accountability, and a positive workplace culture.
Training and Development
  • Coordinate employee training programs and required compliance training.
  • Support leadership development and career growth initiatives.
  • Maintain training records and monitor completion requirements.
Compensation, Benefits, and Compliance
  • Administer compensation and benefits programs, including annual merit reviews and open enrollment activities.
  • Conduct wage analyses to ensure competitive compensation practices.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, company policies, and record-keeping requirements.
  • Coordinate unemployment claims, employment verifications, and HR-related safety initiatives.
HR Systems and Reporting
  • Maintain employee information within the HRIS system (preferably UKG Pro).
  • Monitor and report workforce metrics, including turnover, absenteeism, recruiting activity, and training completion.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
Experience
  • Three + years of progressive human resources experience.
  • Experience supporting a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience leading HR activities for a site, facility, or business unit preferred.
  • Experience conducting investigations and resolving employee relations issues.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms, preferably UKG Pro.
