Human Resources Representative will serve as a primary contact, provide assistance and support to the Human
Resources department.
Primary Functions
- 1. Manages the front desk and office administrative needs for HR Department and responds to associate questions and needs regarding basic personnel, payroll or benefits information and other HR polices & procedures.
- 2. Provides answers/resolution to the majority of calls and inquiries received within HR. Ensure all inquiries and telephone calls to the HR Department are appropriately prioritized and managed in a professional and timely manner. Collaborates with HR team members to appropriately refer inquiries or to determine best course of action and response. Follows-up as necessary
- 3. Directs job applicants to web-based employment resources, which includes internal job postings.
- 4. Manage pre-employment offer processing, which includes background checks, reference checking, welcome packets and complete all other HR forms as applicable.
- 5. Manage the onboarding process for the new hires, student/contractor/temporary and volunteer staff including updating the new hire report.
- 6. Manages a high degree of confidential information and ensures that such information is communicated and/or maintained in an appropriate and professional manner at all times.

Administrative Support
- 1. Oversees general administrative functions to ensure all tasks associated with the HR office are executed in a very professional and efficient manner.
- 2. Orders all supplies, office equipment and materials for the HR Dept.
- 3. Enters online submission of for E-Verify I-9 reporting. Maintains records in accordance with applicable law.
- 4. Manage and maintain all associate and non-associate’s records in accordance with industry standards.
- 5. Manage the off-site storage and retrieval process for associate and non-associate records in accordance with industry standards. Responsible for storing and retrieving files.
- 6. Prepare weekly onboarding documents for teams.
- 7. Manage employment verifications for former or current associates as needed.
- 8. Performs other duties as assigned
Decision Making
- 1. Understands HR matters which constitute a priority for SHS and the HR Department, ensures all such matters are communicated and addressed in a timely and appropriate manner.
- 2. Manages a high degree of confidential information and ensures that such information is communicated and/or always maintained in an appropriate and professional manner.
- 3. Serves as key HR contact and representative; provides high quality customer service. Ensures all Associates receive accurate, timely and reliable information and assistance from the HR Department.
- 4. Facilitates answers to questions, ensures that all inquiries are addressed tactfully, sensitively and with an appropriate sense of service, urgency, and direction at all times
Educational Requirements
High School or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience & Qualifications
- 1. High School or GED required; Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
- 2. 1-3 years of experience as HR Assistant or HR Representative required
- 3. Proficient in Microsoft Office products, expert skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio preferre

- 5. Demonstrates interpersonal savvy and influence skills in dealings with associates, internal and external resources business partners
- 6. Ability to routinely and creatively use and understand technology necessary to collect, input and report critical, requisite information related to human resources, payroll, benefits and related matters.
- 7. Ability to regularly and effectively communicate with all levels of the Corporation
