Job summary

Bowhead seeks a Recruiter to join our government services group in Springfield, VA. You will support the mission by recruiting for technical and non-technical roles, managing 15-20 active requisitions, and partnering with hiring managers to craft compelling descriptions.

Responsibilities include sourcing candidates through ATS, job boards, referrals, and events, screening for fit, scheduling interviews, and negotiating offers. 2–5 years of full lifecycle recruiting is expected.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of recent full life cycle recruiting experience.
• Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
• Ability to develop strong relationships with hiring managers and candidates.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willingness to cold call and build a network of candidates.

Recruiter (HRR-2026-XXXXX):

Bowhead seeks a Recruiter to join our government services group in Springfield, VA. • Responsible for a workload of 15-20 active requisitions.
• Prior experience recruiting for technical and non-technical talent
• Partner with hiring managers to craft compelling job descriptions and determining effective screening criteria by conducting in depth intake calls.
• Source active and passive candidates utilizing ATS, Job boards, referrals, and attending events.
• Screen candidates to ensure they are qualified and exhibit the right skills, cultural fit, and motivation.
• Schedule interviews and assist hiring manager in decision process.
• Negotiate offers, prepare offer letters, and follow up to ensure success in closing candidates.
• Participate in proposal recruiting, new contract transitions, company or third party sponsored recruiting events, and corporate projects including process improvement.
• 2-5 years of recent full life cycle recruiting experience preferably with a recruiting agency or government services contractor.
• Experience with one or more Applicant Tracking Systems.
• Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with hiring managers and candidates.
• Demonstrated ability to source hard to find talent utilizing various sourcing techniques.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
• Willingness to make cold calls and build a network of candidates for current and future needs.
• Must be a self-starter and goal oriented with a passion for research.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Desired Skills:

• Experience recruiting for government contracts including Service Contract Act (SCA)
• Knowledge of OFCCP requirements and guidelines as it pertains to recruiting
• Prior experience recruiting for an 8(a)
• iCIMS Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
• Bachelor’s degree in business or HR discipline.
• Knowledge of bid and proposal process within government contracting

Target salary is $75,000/annually to $85,000/annually commensurate with experience

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

There are currently no Security Clearance requirements for this position; however, candidates must be able to successfully pass a background check. Due to the location of this work, US Citizenship is required. Bowhead reserves the right to change this requirement if necessitated by business needs or contractual obligations.
