Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
  • At least one year of HR and employee relations experience preferred.
  • Experience in a union environment is strongly preferred.
  • Experience handling highly confidential information.
  • Bi-lingual preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Discovers continuous improvement opportunities and drives HR process changes.
  • Acts as a change agent supporting leadership.
  • Ensures compliant with policies, regulations, and laws.
  • Partners with leaders on employment regulations and HR best practices.
  • Supports leaders to achieve business unit goals.
  • Spends significant time in production areas offering hands-on support.
  • Executes HR programs including disciplinary matters, investigations, performance management, and training.
  • Responds to employment inquiries from applicants and employees.
  • Participates in disciplinary meetings and investigations.

Position Description and Purpose

Key Essential Functions/Duties
  • Discovers continuous improvement opportunities and takes the initiative to drive incremental changes in HR processes and systems.
  • Acts as a change agent.
  • Ensures employees at all levels are treated fairly in compliance with company, state and federal policies, regulations, and laws.
  • Partners with leaders and HR management regarding compliance with all applicable state and federal employment regulations, Human Resources policies, and best practices.
  • Supports leaders to achieve business unit and department goals.
  • Partners with other members of the HR Team and Centers of Excellence teams as needed.
  • Project team member and implementor for HR initiatives.
  • Spends significant time in the production areas offering hands–on support.
  • Partners with plant safety team to enforce safe policy and procedures.
  • Executes human resource programs including but not limited to disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles employment‒related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring to complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Skills/Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field experience required. At least one year of human resources and employee relations experience is preferred. Experience in a union environment is strongly preferred. Previous manufacturing HR experience preferred. Experience handling highly confidential and sensitive information. Ability to interact with all levels of employees and be perceived as an approachable and knowledgeable resource. Bi–lingual preferred. Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. SHRM–CP or PHR certification preferred.
