We are excited to welcome a Payroll Administrator to our Lancaster, PA team! This position plays a vital role in supporting our employees by accurately processing multi-state and multi-entity payroll in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Salary: Starting at $68,000 and up, based on experience
Overview: This role ensures accurate payroll records, responds to employee inquiries, and prepares basic payroll cycle reports. The Payroll Administrator also participates in acquisitions, compliance reviews, system troubleshooting, and special projects in collaboration with Payroll, Finance, and Human Resources teams.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Handle all aspects of payroll, biweekly and weekly payroll cycle administration using Dayforce, including transmission of payroll, special payments, review of uploaded hours and labor calculations, direct deposit changes, and entry of employee records such as withholdings, terms/adds, and run off-cycle check runs as needed.
- Conduct regular pre-commit timesheet review and send out payroll deadline manager/employee communications.
- Ensure timely payroll processing of new hires, employee changes, and terminations.
- Ensure accurate tracking of earnings, bonuses, deductions, tax withholdings, direct deposits, and company allowances in payroll transmission.
- Process ancillary quick entry imports for monthly incentives and bonus payments, as needed.
- Process special payroll requests, corrections, and lost or missing checks. Handle off-cycle payrolls and manual checks as required.
- Review payroll pre-commit audits for garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, and other court-mandated deductions.
- Create adjustments for payroll and tax corrections, as needed.
- Utilize pre-commit/post-commit audit checklists and Dayforce reporting for payroll reconciliation and audits, storing documentation for final review.
- Complete post-commit payroll audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Audit and submit post-commit General Ledger entries in Dayforce for financial reporting accuracy and labor cost management.
- Review and process unemployment compensation claims, submitting necessary data and verifying monthly charges.
- Troubleshoot and resolve employee payroll questions, including calculation issues, tax compliance, and adherence to state-specific final pay regulations.
- Support merger and acquisition activities by integrating payroll processes for seamless transitions.
- Collaborate with Dayforce and payroll team to resolve support tickets.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of payroll experience.
- Payroll Certification (CPP or FPC) preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, administrative, and data management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working across all company levels.
- Experience with Dayforce payroll system preferred.
- Experience with payroll tax filings, reconciliations, and compliance audits preferred.
