Description
The Human Resources Partner Generalist Lead within the Human Resources Shared Services (HRSS) team will support Clinical Departments within the HR Shared Services Model. Independently managing HR services within UAB, the HRP Generalist Lead provides strategic human resources advisement while fostering collaboration with HRSS and department leadership. This role serves as the primary contact for HR-related matters in Clinical Departments within the HR Shared Services model including employment, compensation, employee relations, international recruitment and retention, organizational planning, training and development, and onboarding. HR Shared Services supports a diverse range of departments, centers, and institutes, focusing on operational effectiveness and strategic HR partnerships. Employees in HRSS must navigate distinctly different cultures and business needs, requiting a high level of adaptability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. This lead level position is an opportunity to learn the HR and business nuances of all departments supported by HRSS and is responsible for cross coverage. The incumbent partners closely with the Office of Human Resources and/or Dean's Office to ensure compliance with institutional policies and practices while advancing UAB's mission and shared values. The Lead HR Partner serves as a trusted resource and advisor to leadership and will supervise or mentor lower-level HR staff.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and eight (8) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
