Background:

Pitch Labs is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that educates, empowers, and inspires young entrepreneurs by providing accessible step-by-step guides, hosting events and workshops, and promoting peer mentorship and development in a community setting. We are 100% volunteer-run and offer all our resources for free online.

Our team at Pitch Labs is working to make entrepreneurship accessible. We strive to redefine who can be an entrepreneur, highlighting that being an entrepreneur is not about having a specific degree but pursuing one's innate curiosity to learn and develop. We intend to rewrite the narrative of what a successful business and entrepreneur looks like, recognizing that struggles are simply steps to success. We want to help students understand both the value of always being a mentor and mentee and the value of harnessing their creativity regardless of what career they pursue in the future.

What We Need:

We have a vision, we have a platform, but we need events to connect everyone together. Business reaches every single industry and profession in the world, and that means there are an infinite amount of questions to answer and lessons to teach. As a Human Resources Officer, you will collaborate with departments to process applicant submissions, qualify/onboard new volunteers, and make sure that they have access to the resources needed during their time in the organization. HROs will also be responsible for monitoring their department(s) while collaborating with Department Managers on retention initiatives.

Qualifications:

- MUST be located in the United States.

- Detail-Oriented, organized, responsive, proactive, and collaborative.

- Comfortable guiding/training others.

- Familiar with our tech stack (Discord, Google Admin/WorkSpace, LinkedIn, Canva, Dover, etc.)

- BONUS POINTS: Well-versed in GSheets/creating decks in Google Slides.

- Current/past background, with a deep interest in the broad functions of Human Resources, including but not limited to end-to-end recruitment lifecycle, operations, documentation, onboarding/training, performance management.

- Great to additionally have experience in Marketing, Education, Start Ups, or Nonprofit Event Planning.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee specific departments' hiring needs & partnering with Department Manager(s).

- Reviewing applicant correspondence in PitchLabs email account/inbox, and also on Dover (ATS).

- Posting organization’s open roles on various job sites regularly based on priority.

- Reviewing applicant resumes and form responses, and then sharing screened profiles with dept heads for final review.

- Updating/keeping statuses for applicants up-to-date to show where they are in the recruitment/onboarding lifecycle.

- Scheduling, attending and eventually leading onboarding sessions.

- Ensuring new volunteers are familiarized with their tasks & software tools.

- Ensuring all documentation details for each onboarded volunteer is input accurately.

- Update website with new volunteer opportunities, new volunteer profiles, etc.

- Completing offboard requests.

- Tracking volunteer hour submissions, and taking care of discrepancies.

- Conducting 30-day & 90-day feedback sessions for volunteers.

- Monitoring and engaging our different Spaces on Google Chat regularly.

- Responding to emails/chat messages within 24 hours.

- Managing/owning ad-hoc collaborative projects as they arise.

Time Commitment: THIS IS AN UNPAID, REMOTE #WFH VOLUNTEER POSITION. Although this is a volunteer role, given our startup-like functioning, we only seek active volunteers who are energized, ready to engage and make an impact.

Please be prepared to contribute at least 5-8 hours a week for at least the next 6-12 months. As we invest heavily in training each volunteer, we humbly request that if you are unable to meet this time commitment, that you do not proceed with our application further. We enforce a 24 hour response policy to promote a smooth workflow and mindfulness towards ongoing projects/deadlines that team members are working on.

We are able to accommodate volunteers who need time off for exams, work, family events, etc., as long as these commitments are appropriately conveyed as soon as possible.
