MX Logistics Group seeks an experienced Human Resources Manager with a strong CDL-A driver recruiting background to support both professional drivers and office staff in New Jersey.

You will lead recruitment, coordinate onboarding and manage employee relations, benefits and compliance in a hands-on HR role.

Job description

MX Logistics Group is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager with a strong background in CDL-A driver recruiting to join our transportation and logistics operation.

Our immediate priority is the recruitment of qualified OTR/CDL-A drivers. We are looking for someone who has personally recruited professional truck drivers, understands the challenges of OTR recruiting, and knows how to proactively source and build a pipeline of qualified CDL-A candidates.

Beyond driver recruiting, this is a hands-on HR management position responsible for the day-to-day Human Resources function supporting both our professional drivers and office employees.

Hands-on OTR/CDL-A driver recruiting experience and prior HR experience within trucking, transportation, logistics or 3PL are required.

What You'll Do

• Lead ongoing recruitment of qualified OTR/CDL-A and local CDL-A drivers
• Proactively source drivers through job boards, industry recruiting platforms, referrals and other sourcing channels
• Develop and maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified CDL-A candidates
• Conduct initial driver screening and coordinate candidates throughout the hiring process
• Partner closely with Operations and Safety throughout driver qualification, hiring and onboarding
• Monitor recruiting results and adjust sourcing strategies based on hiring needs

Human Resources

• Manage recruiting for office and operational positions
• Serve as the primary HR resource for employees and management
• Handle employee relations, investigations, performance management and disciplinary matters
• Administer employee benefits and leave programs
• Coordinate workers' compensation and return-to-work matters
• Maintain HR policies, personnel records and employment compliance
• Administer employee information and personnel changes in ADP
• Support employee engagement, retention and recognition initiatives

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated hands-on experience recruiting OTR/CDL-A drivers
• Proven ability to source and develop a pipeline of qualified CDL-A driver candidates
• 3+ years of HR experience within trucking, transportation, logistics or 3PL
• 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
• Strong employee relations and HR compliance experience
• Knowledge of federal and New Jersey employment laws
• Familiarity with DOT/FMCSA requirements related to driver recruiting, qualification and onboarding
• Experience with ADP or a comparable HRIS
• Strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills
• Ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced transportation environment

Preferred

• 5+ years of HR experience within trucking/transportation
• Significant ongoing or high-volume CDL-A driver recruiting experience
• Experience recruiting OTR drivers in a competitive driver market
• Experience as a stand-alone HR professional or HR lead
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience
• PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred, but not required
