Job summary

Hueman is seeking a driven Class A CDL Driver Recruiter for a temporary role. You will recruit qualified drivers across local, regional, and over-the-road opportunities, delivering a candidate-centered hiring experience.

You will partner with managers and operations to understand routes, equipment, schedules, and compensation, while maintaining a strong, responsive recruiting pipeline.

Class A CDL Driver Recruiter - Temporary

Hueman is hiring a driven, people-focused Class A CDL Driver Recruiter to help our clients connect with qualified transportation talent. In this role, you’ll recruit professional drivers for a variety of Class A CDL opportunities while delivering responsive, engaging, and candidate-centered hiring experience.

This is a great opportunity for a recruiter who understands the transportation market, enjoys high-volume outreach, and knows how to keep qualified drivers engaged from first conversation through hire. You’ll partner closely with hiring managers, operations teams, and client stakeholders to understand route requirements, equipment needs, schedules, endorsements, compliance standards, and candidate expectations.

What You’ll Do as a Class A CDL Driver Recruiter

• Recruit qualified Class A CDL Drivers through job boards, resume databases, referrals, social media, networking, and direct outreach
• Screen driver candidates for CDL status, driving experience, endorsements, DOT requirements, MVR considerations, route preferences, availability, and compensation expectations
• Clearly communicate role details, including local, regional, dedicated, or over-the-road routes, equipment type, freight expectations, home time, pay structure, and hiring timelines
• Guide candidates through interviews, background checks, motor vehicle record reviews, drug screens, DOT medical documentation, and onboarding requirements
• Build strong relationships with driver candidates through timely follow-up, transparent communication, and a positive candidate experience
• Partner with hiring managers and operations teams to clarify job requirements, prioritize openings, and create targeted recruiting strategies
• Meet or exceed recruiting metrics, including outreach volume, submittals, interviews scheduled, and driver starts
• Manage high-volume needs across multiple terminals or geographic markets simultaneously
• Maintain accurate recruiting activity, candidate status, pipeline progress, and hiring outcomes in the applicant tracking system
• Stay current on competitor pay, sign-on bonuses, and market conditions to advise on candidate expectations

What You’ll Bring as a Driver Recruiter

• Sense of urgency and resilience to thrive in a metric-driven, fast-moving driver market where speed-to-contact directly impacts hire rates
• Experience recruiting Class A CDL Drivers, transportation professionals, logistics talent, or high-volume hourly candidates preferred
• Working knowledge of driver qualifications, CDL classifications, endorsements, DOT compliance basics, MVR considerations, and driver onboarding requirements
• Ability to sell opportunities effectively, create urgency, and keep driver candidates engaged in a competitive hiring market
• Strong phone, text, email, and candidate relationship-building skills to reduce candidate fall-off between offer, orientation, and first day
• Comfort using applicant tracking systems, job boards, resume databases, spreadsheets, and recruiting technology
• Excellent organization, follow-through, and attention to detail while managing multiple openings and candidate pipelines
• A professional, service-focused approach when working with candidates, clients, hiring managers, and internal teams
