Job Description

Primary Purpose:
Provide leadership for strategic human capital initiatives that strengthen recruitment, onboarding, employee development, leadership pipelines, engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness. This position leads innovative talent strategies that support educator effectiveness and align with the mission and strategic priorities of Texans Can Academies.


Note: This position is grant funded and is budgeted for $80,000/annually.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

  • Five years of experience in recruitment, talent development, organizational development, or Human Resources.

  • Texas public school experience preferred.

  • Project management experience preferred.


Special Knowledge/Skills:



  • Knowledge of strategic recruitment, workforce planning, employee engagement, professional learning, and data analysis.

  • Knowledge of TIA, T-TESS, T-PESS, educator development, and grant-funded initiatives preferred.

  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and project management skills.


Major Responsibilities and Duties:


Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning



  • Lead the Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning internship program, including program development, intern recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and ongoing evaluation.

  • Lead districtwide recruitment strategies, hiring events, university partnerships, and workforce planning initiatives.

  • Develop innovative recruitment and retention strategies aligned with district staffing needs.

  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with universities, colleges, and workforce organizations to strengthen talent pipelines.

  • Analyze workforce trends, staffing needs, and recruitment data to support proactive workforce planning and talent acquisition strategies.


Employee Development and Engagement



  • Coordinate new employee orientation and onboarding experiences that promote employee success, belonging, and engagement.

  • Lead mentoring programs, leadership development, career pathways, and Grow Your Own initiatives that support employee growth and advancement.

  • Design and facilitate professional learning opportunities that strengthen employee effectiveness, leadership capacity, and continuous improvement.

  • Develop and implement employee recognition initiatives that celebrate contributions, reinforce organizational values, and foster a culture of appreciation.

  • Create and support employee development strategies that provide meaningful opportunities for career growth, skill development, and internal advancement.

  • Lead employee engagement initiatives that strengthen workplace culture, employee connection, morale, and retention.

  • Gather and analyze employee feedback and engagement data to identify opportunities for improvement and inform strategies that enhance the overall employee experience.


Strategic Programs



  • Coordinate strategic HR programs, including employee recognition, organizational development initiatives, HR communications, website content, and workforce analytics.

  • Support the implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the Teacher Incentive Allotment and other strategic talent initiatives aligned with organizational priorities.

  • Lead and coordinate grant-funded talent development projects, ensuring timely implementation, compliance, reporting, and required documentation.

  • Use workforce data, employee feedback, and program outcomes to evaluate effectiveness, identify trends, and inform strategic workforce planning and decision-making.

  • Develop cross-functional partnerships and communication strategies to support successful implementation, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability of strategic HR programs and initiatives.


Leadership



  • Prepare executive reports and recommendations using workforce data.

  • Collaborate with district leaders to improve employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.

  • Support strategic initiatives assigned by the Chief Human Resources Officer.


Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise assigned Human Resources staff and evaluate performance in accordance with district policy.


Equipment Used:


Computer, HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, audiovisual presentation equipment, calculator, copier, telephone, and standard office equipment.


Working Conditions:


Office environment requiring frequent computer use, prolonged sitting, occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds, districtwide travel, and occasional evening and weekend work.


Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $80,000 to $80,000 Per Year
